Sri Lanka Women qualify for Asian Games semi-finals
The Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team qualified for the semi-finals of the Asian Games Women’s Cricket Tournament, currently being held in Japan, by defeating the Malaysian women’s team by 86 runs today (18).
Batting first in the match played at Korogi Stadium in Nisshin, Japan, Sri Lanka scored 160 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
However, while chasing the target, the Malaysian team was restricted to 74 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
This was Sri Lanka’s first match in the Asian Games, as the team was granted direct entry to the quarter-finals.
