Rugby: Sri Lanka to take on UAE at Racecourse

Sri Lanka rugby team led by Tarinda Ratwatte will take on the United Arab Emirates in an Asia Rugby Men’s Championship 2025 encounter at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo today (04).
The game is scheduled to get underway at 4:00 p.m.
The encounter is also part of the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup Qualifier.
Experienced Kandy SC fly-half Tarinda Ratwatte will continue to lead the side.
The 39th ranked Sri Lanka has fielded a strong line-up for today’s encounter and must win against the UAE side to remain in Asia’s elite rugby championship.
A loss today will result in Sri Lanka having to win a play-off game to remain in the competition next year.
The UAE, ranked 43rd in the world comprises of expats who have played in some of the best leagues in the world.
They also showcased their potential by beating South Korea 38-36 in their previous encounter.
Sri Lanka will bank on their speedy backs to deliver and claim a decisive victory in the final game of this year’s championship.
