Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of T20I series against Bangladesh

All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed no replacement will be named.

Hasaranga suffered a hamstring injury while playing in the third ODI against Bangladesh on Tuesday (08).

The opening T20I between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is scheduled to be held tomorrow (10), at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

Dambulla will host the second match on July 13, while the series will conclude with the final game on July 16 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

Sri Lanka sealed a 2-1 series victory over Bangladesh with a convincing 99-run win in the final ODI at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Sri Lanka posted a strong total of 285/7, powered by a superb century from Kusal Mendis.

Mendis scored 124 off 115 balls - his sixth century in ODIs. The right-handed batter shared a crucial 124-run stand for the fourth wicket with skipper Charith Asalanka, who contributed 58 runs off 68 deliveries.

Kusal Mendis remained at the crease until the 46th over before being dismissed with the score at 255. Wanindu Hasaranga remained unbeaten with 14 runs off 12 balls, including two boundaries.

Chasing 286, the visitors were bowled out for 186 in 39.4 overs.
