Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh in the opening Twenty20 International of the three-match series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

Sri Lanka has named legspinner Jeffrey Vandersay in the playing XI in place of Wanindu Hasaranga, who was ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury.

Experienced Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunaratne have also been named in the playing XI.

For Bangladesh, Naim Sheikh comes into the team, along with captain Litton Das, after missing the last two ODIs.

Sri Lanka won the test series between the two sides 1-0 and then the ODI exchange 2-1.
