The Asia Cup 2025 will take place between September 8 and 28 in the United Arab Emirates, according to Indian media reports.

This comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) agreed to attend the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka on July 24 virtually after initially opposing it. Earlier, reports had stated that the Asia Cup was scheduled to begin on September 10.

As per Times of India, the Asia Cup 2025 will take place between September 8 to 28. Eight nations will be part of the tournament. India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan are the full-time members. The winners of ACC Premier Cup UAE, Hong Kong and Oman will be the other three teams who will be a part of the tournament. Asia Cup 2025 will reportedly be hosted by the UAE.

Earlier, the BCCI had told ACC that if they don’t change the venue of the meeting, they won’t attend it. Furthermore, the cash-rich board warned that they won’t abide by any decision taken at the meeting either. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) were also expected to boycott the meeting.

The tournament is set to follow a group stage followed by Super Fours format. Asia Cup and ICC events are the only platform in which India take on Pakistan.

India recently got a clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) over taking on Pakistan. The decision came after uncertainty over the future of the clash between the arch-rivals following the Pahalgam terror attack.
