Hong Kong claims U-20 Asia Rugby Sevens title; Sri Lanka finishes runners-up

Hong Kong defeated Sri Lanka 33-00 in the final to win the Asia Rugby Men’s U20s Sevens 2025 tournament in Bihar, India.
Hong Kong led 19-00 at halftime.
The under-20 Sri Lanka team was impressive throughout the tournament where they managed to win all four encounters including the group stage game against Hong Kong.
However, in the final they were outclassed the by superior Hong Kong side.
Sri Lanka defeated China 26-17 in the semi-final.
Pre-tournament favourites Hong Kong took home the title while the promising Sri Lankan juniors had to settle for the runners-up trophy.
In the women’s draw, Sri Lanka managed to beat Nepal 24-12 in the play-off game to finish seventh in the tournament.
A total of 16 teams, eight men’s and eight women’s teams, competed over two action-packed days in a round-robin format, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the Cup semi-finals. The remaining teams competed for the Plate category.
