Women’s World Cup: Sri Lanka opts to bat against Bangladesh in Mumbai

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the 21st match of the 2025 Women’s World Cup in Mumbai.
Sri Lanka is placed seventh in the points table with no wins in five outings while Bangladesh is currently placed sixth with a solitary win.
At the toss, Skipper Athapaththu said she is confident of her team’s batting capabilities and hoping to post a competitive score.
She also confirmed that she has made one change to the playing from the previous encounter.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana said bowlers have been consistent, versatile and productive and she is hopeful of restricting Sri Lanka to a lower total.
