The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of INR 510 million for the Indian women’s team following their title win at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the announcement in a statement to ANI on Monday, calling it a gesture to acknowledge the team’s historic achievement at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday (November 2).

“BCCI is elated and without touching anything from the ICC kitty, BCCI on its own is going to pay, as a reward, of INR 510 million to the Indian team. That amount will go to the players, selectors as well as the support staff headed by Amol Muzumdar,” Saikia said.

The reward from the BCCI is in addition to ICC’s revision to the winner’s prize money. Ahead of the competition, ICC Chairman Jay Shah had announced a significant hike in the prize money for teams at the Women’s World Cup, with the winners set to receive USD 4.48 million. This is a big jump from what Australia’s women’s team got in 2022 - USD 1.32 million - and an improvement on what their men’s side received for upstaging India in Ahmedabad in 2023 - USD 4 million.

India defeated South Africa in the final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday to clinch their maiden Women’s World Cup title.
