Zimbabwe clinch win as Sri Lanka bundled out for 95

Zimbabwe thumped Sri Lanka by 67 runs in the T20I Tri-series match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing a decent 163-run target for victory, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 95 on the last ball of the 20th over.

Skipper Dasun Shanaka was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 34 off 25 balls, laced with two fours and two maximums. Bhanuka Rajapaksa contributed 11 off 18 balls with the help of one boundary. No other batter could enter the double figures.

Brad Evans bagged three wickets, Richard Ngarva two, and skipper Sikandar Raza, Ryan Burl, Graeme Cremer and Tinotenda Maposa one each, while Kusal Mendis was run out. Sikandar Raza was named Player of the Match for his exceptional show with the bat and ball.

After being put into bat by Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka, Zimbabwe reached 162/8 in their quota of 20 overs.

Brian Bennett was the highest scorer with 49 off 42 balls, hitting five fours and one maximum. Skipper Sikandar Raza contributed a valuable 47 off 32 balls, laced with three fours and two huge sixes.

Ryan Burl made 18 off 11 balls, Brendan Taylor and Tashinga Musekiwa 11 each, and Tadiwanashe Marumani 10. 

Wanindu Hasaranga bagged three wickets, debutant Eshan Malinga two, and Maheesh Theekshana and Dushmantha Chameera one each, while Brad Evans was run out.
