The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is set to happen in Abu Dhabi on December 16. As per a release by the IPL, 350 players will go under the hammer, which is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM IST (1:00 PM UAE time) at Etihad Arena.

The League has finalised the player auction list, which is much smaller than the 1,390 players who registered for the auction. Out of the 350 shortlisted, 240 players are Indian, while 110 are overseas players. The pool has 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players in this year’s auction.

77 slots will be available for the 10 franchises, with 31 reserved for the overseas players. Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi are the only two Indians who have listed themselves at the maximum base price of INR 2 crore among the 40 players. Out of the remaining 310 players, nine players are in the INR 1.5 crore bracket, four players have opted for a reserve price of INR 1.25 crore and 17 players have set theirs at INR 1 crore. 42 players are in the INR 75 lakh category, while four players have chosen INR 50 lakh. Seven players have a reserve price of INR 40 lakh, and the largest group of 227 remaining players are in the INR 30 lakh bracket.

Quinton de Kock of South Africa is a late addition to the list after a franchise request. The wicket-keeper batter will be a prized possession, given his performance in the 3rd ODI in Vishakapatnam, scoring a century. But the team eventually lost the match and the series 2-1. He’s listed with a base price of ₹1 crore, which is half of the ₹2 crore base price he had in the previous mega auction.

Another expensive pick will be Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. He has registered as a batter and will be under eyes, as teams will be looking for a hard-hitting all-rounder. George Linde and Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage were also added to the roster later.
