In the 3rd match of the day, Sri Lanka have set a 164-run target for Ireland after Kamindu Mendis (44 off 19) and Kusal Mendis (56 off 43) provided a late flourish, adding 56 runs in the death overs.

Sri Lanka posted 163/6. The day began with New Zealand beating Afghanistan with a record chase at Chepauk in Chennai.

But it was the England vs Nepal match that stole the spotlight.

Nepal dragged England into the last over and had an upper hand in the last two overs as the pendullum swang both ways constantly.

England survived Nepal scare in their T20 World Cup opener by just 4 runs.
