Italy won the toss and elected to bowl first against Nepal in a Group C encounter of the 2026 T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Nepal made one change, bringing in Lalit Rajbanshi for Sher Malla.
Both teams lost their opening games, making this a must-win contest to stay in contention for the Super 8. Another defeat could all but end their campaign.
Nepal, who played a high-scoring match against England at the same venue, is banking on openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh, skipper Rohit Paudel, and all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee. Sandeep Lamichhane leads the bowling attack.
Italy, who lost to Scotland by 73 runs are without injured captain Wayne Madsen.
Nepal has previously beaten Italy in 50-over matches, but this is their first T20 meeting. Nepal is seeking their first World Cup win since 2014.
