T20 World Cup: Pallekele Stadium gates to open at noon

The gates of the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Kandy will be opened at noon today for ticket holders to enter and witness the Sri Lanka-England T20 World Cup encounter.

The super-eight round contest is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m.

All tickets for the match has been sold out and therefore ticket holders have been advised to arrive early to avoid congestion.

Although rains have subsided for now, Kandy is likely to experience thundershowers in the evening today.

According to the current forecast by the Department of Meteorology, showers are likely to affect the World Cup encounter.

However, from tomorrow, rainfall is expected to ease considerably, the Met. Department added.
