New Zealand registered a commanding 61-run victory over Sri Lanka in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight stage Group 2 encounter at the RPS, ending Sri Lanka’s hopes of qualifying for the semifinals.
Chasing a challenging target, Sri Lanka were restricted to 107 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Kamindu Mendis top-scored with 31 runs, while Dunith Wellalage contributed 29, but the hosts failed to build substantial partnerships under mounting pressure.
