India thrash Zimbabwe by 72 runs in Super 8 match

India registered a comprehensive 72-run victory over Zimbabwe in their Super Eights encounter of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Batting first, India piled up an imposing 256 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs after a dominant display from the top order. Zimbabwe, in response, managed 184 for 6 despite a spirited knock from their leading batter, but the target proved far beyond reach.
India’s bowlers maintained control throughout the chase, striking at regular intervals and effectively containing Zimbabwe’s scoring rate to secure a convincing win.
With this result, India further strengthened their campaign in the Super Eights stage, while Zimbabwe face mounting pressure in the tournament.
