Ananda-Nalanda ‘Battle of the Maroons’ ends in a draw

The 96th Battle of the Maroons between Ananda College Colombo and Nalanda College Colombo ended in a draw at the SSC Grounds.
Ananda College batting first posted 353/8 before declaring the innings.
Nalanda, who battered brilliantly claimed a first innings lead before the declaring the innings at 424/8.
In the second innings Ananda College scored 170/6 and set a 100-run target to win the annual encounter.
Nalanda College managed just 8/0 before curtains were brought down to the 96th Battle of the Maroons at the SSC grounds this evening.
