Australia made 233-2 from their 20 overs in the first T20I against Sri Lanka at the Adelaide Oval, with David Warner staring with an unbeaten hundred.
Warner made exactly 100* after Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl against the hosts.
Lasith Malinga’s decision meant Warner walked out to open for his first home international since the end of the Newlands ban alongside the captain Aaron Finch. Finch made 64 before Glenn Maxwell came in and added 62.
Australia left out Ben McDermott and Billy Stanlake from their team after Andrew Tye was ruled out of the series with an elbow injury, meaning Alex Carey will bat at No6 and the spin bowling all-rounder Ashton Agar as high as No7.
As well as welcoming back Malinga, Sri Lanka elected to leave out Niroshan Dickwella, with Kusal Perera taking the gloves for the visitors.
