DPF welcomes UNP alliance, criticizes silence on minority issues

The Democratic People’s Alliance welcoming the UNP invitation for an opposition alliance, critisised the UNP’s silence on minority issues. Releasing a statement Nalliah Kumaraguruparan General Secretary of the DFP stated that the proposed alliance should be a broad one including all leading opposition parties.
The statement adds that the DPF is concerned about the UNP’s silence on minorities’ issues, particularly about the proposed deliberate plan to reduce the demographic pattern of minorities in the capital city, evacuation of pavement businessmen which has affected the bread winning process of many below marginalized families.
