Dasun Shanaka to join Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023

Gujarat Titans have signed Sri Lankan limited overs skipper Dasun Shanaka to replace the injured Kane Williamson in IPL 2023.
Williamson suffered a knee injury on the opening night against Chennai Super Kings and wasn’t available to bat. The New Zealander was subsequently ruled out of the tournament recently and returned home.
Shanaka, who has never featured in the IPL before, has now been signed for his base price of INR 50 lakh.
Shanaka was in great nick with the bat recently in India as he smashed 124 runs in the T20I series at a strike rate of 187. In the same series, the Sri Lankan allrounder also hammered his second-ever hundred in international cricket.
