Sri Lanka have shown absolute brilliance in the first innings of the last ODI match against Afghanistan, shutting down the visitors for a meagre score of 116 for the loss of nine wickets in 22.2 overs.
Afghanistan’s decision to bat first after winning the toss turned out to be disastrous for them, losing their initial three wickets in the first four overs of the innings.
Dushmantha Chameera (63/4) and Lahiru Kumara (29/2) started the downfall, with both bowling in tandems and making the most of it.
Wanindu Hasaranga took over the reins soon after, bagging a three-wicket haul in seven runs.
The visitors, very evidently, succumbed to the pressure, and Sri Lanka have almost sealed their fate in this must-win match for the Lions to win the series 2 – 1.
