The Sri Lanka Women’s cricket team secured a 1-1 series draw against New Zealand Women after the third and final T20I in Dunedin was abandoned due to rain on Monday (17).

New Zealand Women were 101/3 in 14.1 overs—just four balls away from a revised 15-over contest—when rain forced an early end to the game, preventing a result.

With both teams having won one match each, the series ended in a tie. Chamari Athapaththu, who led Sri Lanka from the front, was named Player of the Series for her all-round performances.

Sri Lanka had earlier scripted history by securing their first-ever T20I win against New Zealand in the second match of the series, leveling the series after a defeat in the opener.
