A protest fast was launched his morning in Thelippalei, Jaffna participated by several representativesand supporters of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), United National Party (UNP) and several other opposition parties, calling for the establishing of a democratic rule and an end to alleged illegal land grabbing in the North.
