The first images of the Moon captured during the Artemis II mission by NASA astronauts have been released, offering unprecedented views of regions never before observed directly by humans. The photographs also include a rare solar eclipse as seen from space. Released on Tuesday (April 7) the images were taken on April 6 during the crew’s approximately seven-hour flyby over the lunar far side. This mission represents a significant milestone, marking humanity’s return to the vicinity of the Moon.
