Ada Derana bags e-News award at e-Swabimani awards 2010

Ada Derana won the award for the Best e-Content Application in the e-News category at the e-Swabimani awards 2010 organised by the ICTA at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel a short while ago.

 

 

www.adaderana.lk was recognized for its tri-lingual presentation of news to Sri Lankans both living within the country and abroad.

 

 

The e-Swabimani awards are aimed at recognising the creativity and innovation of the country’s developers of digital content and applications. e-Swabhimani 2010 attracted 163 applications, up from 133 in 2009, and came from 11 categories – e-Business and Commerce; e- Culture and Entertainment; e- Learning and Education; e- Enterprise and Livelihood; e-Science and Environment; e-Governance; e- Health; e-Inclusion; e-Localisation; e-News and m- Content.

 

 

The e- Swabhimani was of special significance since it will be the pre-cursor to the World Summit Award 2011. All e-Swabhimani winners will be eligible for consideration as the National nomination to the WSA where each country can submit only one nomination for a given category.
