90-day detention order issued on Pilleyan

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has obtained a 90-day detention order on former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias ‘Pilleyan’ for further questioning, the police said.
The former State Minister was arrested by the CID on Tuesday (08) in Batticaloa, in connection with an investigation being conducted by the CID.
The CID is reportedly carrying out an investigation in relation to an incident of the disappearance of a university vice chancellor in the Eastern Province in 2006.
