Four Indian fishermen arrested for poaching in Sri Lankan waters off Delft

A fishing boat has been seized while four Indian fishermen have been apprehended for poaching in Sri Lankan waters off the Delft Island, Jaffna.

The Northern Naval Command deployed its Inshore Patrol Craft to seize the fishing boat after it infiltrated Sri Lankan waters, the Sri Lanka Navy said.

The seized boat and the four Indian fishermen have been handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Mailadi for onward legal proceedings, the Navy added.
