Hold funerals in a peaceful manner – Magistrate orders

The Walasmulla Magistrate Court today ordered to hold funerals of the two victims of the Hambantota, Katuwana JVP rally shooting incident in a peaceful manner.

 

Accordingly the Magistrate ordered prohibiting the use of flags, banners or placards of any sort at the funeral also adding that the shortest route should be taken to the cemetery for last rites.

 

Two persons including a female were killed on June 15 when a group of individuals on motorbikes had opened fire at a JVP rally at Katuwana, Hambantota. The funerals of the victims are scheduled to be held today evening.
