Head of SLNSS Airport Branch arrested

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya (SLNSS), Airport & Aviation Branch has been arrested by Warakapola Police.

He was arrested on several allegations including the use of two state-owned vehicles to carry out decorations for the Joint Opposition’s Pada Yatra, police said.

During the protest march, from Kandy to Colombo, Joint Opposition members had paid floral tribute to the statue of former minister Dharmasiri Senanayake yesterday (30).

The arrested suspect is accused of providing vehicles belonging to the Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited for this without permission, police said.
