Man found shot dead inside vehicle in Panadura

The body of a man who was shot dead inside a luxury vehicle has been found in Pinwatta, Panadura this morning.

During the preliminary investigations, the police discovered that two gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle had opened fire at the victim on the Tidman Silva road at around 8.00 a.m.

The victim was found dead in the driving seat of his Land Cruiser Prado, according to the police.

He was identified as a 56-year-old named Sampath Kudagoda, a businessman who was residing in Kirillawala. He is reportedly the owner of a soft drink manufacturing company in Kadawatha.

The victim, who also owns a house under construction in Pinwatta, had been on his way back home after dropping his kids off at the school in the morning.

Several police teams have initiated investigations into the incident to apprehend the perpetrators.
