Several political decisions taken at meeting between President & ruling party MPs

A special meeting of the Members of Parliament representing the ruling party led by President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been held at the Presidential Secretariat last night (25).

During the discussion, special attention of the MPs has reportedly been drawn to the government’s future course of actions, implementation of development projects and preparation of developmental plans covering all electorates.

Sources said that it also focused on the decisions to be taken by political parties and reaching specific agreements in relation to the upcoming elections.

Speaking to the media following the meeting, State Minister D.B. Herath said that the affiliated parties of the government have decided to work together in the upcoming presidential election.

The meeting was participated by all MPs of the ruling party including Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
