26-year-old youth dies after falling from bus in Kilinochchi

A tragic accident was reported in Kilinochchi last night (18), when a passenger died after falling from a bus traveling from Ariviyal Nagar towards Uruthirapuram, at the 8th Ela area on the Uruthtipuram Road within the Kilinochchi Police Division.

The victim, a 26-year-old resident of Uruthirapuram, sustained critical injuries in the fall and was admitted to the Kilinochchi District General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said. 

His body has been placed at the hospital morgue.

According to police, the bus was transporting a group of garment factory employees at the time of the incident. 

The driver of the bus has been arrested in connection with the incident .

Further investigations are being carried out by the Kilinochchi Police.
