The computer system at the Department of Immigration and Emigration has been fully restored, and passport services at the main office in Battaramulla and regional offices have returned to normal, the department announced.

The Department’s Deputy Controller and Media Spokesperson Mahesh Karunadasa said operations, temporarily suspended since yesterday due to a technical issue, are now back to normal.

He confirmed that the issuance of regular and one-day service passports, as well as visas, is proceeding as usual, and that urgent and essential requests are already being processed across all regional branches.
