Navy seizes fishing trawler with suspected narcotics in southwestern waters

A local multi-day fishing trawler suspected of smuggling a consignment of narcotics has been seized in the sea area off the southwest coast of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Navy intercepted the fishing trawler and apprehended six suspects along with the illicit cargo.
They are currently being escorted to shore for investigation, the Navy noted.
