Seven injured following collision on Tissamaharama–Matara road

Seven persons have been hospitalised after sustaining injuries in a vehicular collision along the Tissamaharama – Matara main road this afternoon (04 Feb.).

A van and a car had collided earlier today, after the van had reportedly attempted to overtake a bus n the Tissamaharama – Matara main road.

According to police, five persons travelling in the car and two others who were travelling in the van had been admitted to the Tangalle, Angunakolapelessa and Hamabntota hospitals after sustaining injuries.

The injured persons have been identified as residents of Hunagama and Tangalle, while further investigations into the accident were carried out by the Hunagama Police.
