The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has extended the deadline for public officials who were unable to complete their registration on the centralized electronic system due to technical issues to submit their assets and liabilities declarations.

In a statement, the Commission said the deadline has been extended until midnight on July 7. It also noted that no penalties will be imposed on declarations submitted during the extended period.

CIABOC had previously required annual and post-retirement assets and liabilities declarations, as at March 31, 2026, to be submitted on or before June 30.

While declarations may still be accepted until August 31, the Commission reiterated that submissions made after the July 7 deadline will be subject to the applicable late penalties.

The Bribery Commission noted that it had received reports of technical difficulties encountered by users after the centralized electronic system experienced heavy traffic from June 28, leading to congestion and preventing some users from completing the registration process.

Under the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023, all persons required to submit assets and liabilities declarations must do so exclusively through the centralized electronic system established by CIABOC.

The Bribery Commission urged users experiencing issues with the system to contact its Assets and Liabilities Declaration Division on 076 70 11 954 or 011 25 87 287 for assistance.
