Search and rescue operations will continue today - SLAF

Search and rescue operations will continue today (27), Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) says.

SLAF Spokesperson, Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne stated that three more helicopters under the command of the Koggala Air Force Camp have been allocated for search and rescue missions, in addition to the seven that were allocated yesterday (26).

He adds that another helicopter of the MI 17 variety has already been dispatched from the Ratmalana Air Force Camp on a mission.

Meanwhile, an Air Force officer who was injured during a rescue operation in Neluwa-Galle yesterday (26) has reportedly succumbed to his injuries during the night, after being admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle.
