Update (1.33 p.m.) - The water supply interruption scheduled for tomorrow (24) in several Colombo suburbs has been postponed by two hours and will now be imposed from 8.00 p.m. tomorrow until 8.00 p.m. on Thursday (June 25), the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced.

Accordingly, the water cut will now affect the areas of Padukka, Homagama, Kottawa, Pannipitiya, and Pelenwatte, while water supply to Maharagama area will be supplied under low-pressure conditions, NWSDB said.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 24-hour water supply interruption in several areas due to essential maintenance work on the main water supply line from Labugama and Kalatuwawa to Maharagama.

The affected areas include Galagedara, Homagama, Kottawa, Pannipitiya, Pelenwatte, and Maharagama.

Accordingly, the water supply to the aforementioned areas will be suspended from 6.00 p.m. tomorrow (24) to 6.00 p.m. on June 25.

The NWSDB stated that the interruption is necessary to carry out maintenance work on the main pipeline and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to consumers.

Consumers in the affected areas are advised to use water sparingly during the maintenance period.
