Wimal Weerawansa appears before court after arrest warrant issued
Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, against whom an arrest warrant had been issued, appeared before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court a short while ago, said Ada Derana reporter.
Appearing on behalf of Weerawansa, Attorney-at-Law Manjula Pathiraja informed the court that his client had been unable to appear before the court on time due to a breakdown of his vehicle.
Accordingly, the attorney requested that the court recall the warrant issued against his client.
However, Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama instructed the defence to make the request tomorrow by way of a motion.
