An assistant manager and a security officer of a state bank’s branch in Horana have been arrested in connection with the robbery of Rs. 30.5 million in cash from the bank branch.
On June 3 at around 2:55 p.m., a bank employee was carrying two bags of cash through the rear entrance of the bank when an individual arrived, forcibly snatched the cash bags, and fled the area.
The stolen cash amounted to Rs. 30.5 million, which was being transported for deposit into the automated teller machines (ATMs) of the respective bank.
